A great quote to live by:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things
you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore, Dream, Discover.

New items I've been working on!

"Spudnik" necklace

My newest creation for a competition (Convergence II-JEWELRY DESIGN WITH ART GLASS BEADS INSPIRED BY PERSONAS OF FACT AND FICTION) for ISGB. Titled: "Sailors Valentine- For Get Me Not"

My Character is John "Jack" Aubrey also known as "Lucky Jack". He rises from a lieutenant to Rear- Admiral in the Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. He was regarded as one of the best fighting captains in the Royal Navy. Sophia Aubrey (nee Williams) was Jack's wife. They had three children (two twin girls- Charlotte and Fanny and a boy, George). During Jack's often absents for months at a time he would have created this "Sailors Valentine" standing for his love for her and the children (heads represent twins- Charlotte and Fanny).

On a personal note: I grew up in a sailing family. At the age of eight my parents took me out of school for over a year. We sailed from Miami to Venezuela and down the east coast. My daughter was born when my father was crossing the Pacific Ocean on a 27 foot sail boat. My parents now spend their winters sailing the Bahamas. For this I do understand the long hours spent at sea with no contact with loved ones.
